The Listen-in letter
Each week’s letter is shaped to be read out loud or skimmed on a phone.
Typical shape:
- Listen in: who sat in, and what decision was on the table
- From X (optional): a short pull from the guest or a prior thread, when it earns the space
- One more thing: one concrete takeaway you can use without the full episode
- Close: a soft handoff back to the board. No Calendly stack. No product menu. No link pile by default.
That is the newsletter. Substance from the room; I keep the door open.
The interviews
When an interview publishes, plan on about 25–35 minutes. Guests work one employer decision. I host so the conversation stays useful for someone listening in, not sitting in the room.
You do not need the video to get value from the letter. The letter stands alone. The interview goes deeper when you want the full exchange.
Live vs text
Text-first: Subscribe to the weekly letter. Read it when you have five minutes. That is enough for most weeks.
Audio / video: When a recording exists, follow on YouTube @mattragudo or open the episode from Substack. Same conversation; pick the format that fits your day.
You can do both. Many people read the letter, then play the interview on a drive.
